The Koala room is our three year old room and has 30 children and 4 staff; a qualified Kinder Teacher as team leader, 2 qualified childcare workers and 1 experienced assistant.
This room has a specialist movement teacher visit each Wednesday , Computers in the room for children’s use, a specialist singing teacher every Monday and a specialist Drama teacher every Friday.
This program is run jointly by our Team Leader and Kinder teacher, who facilitate a fun, stimulating and challenging environment.
We offer care from one day to five days in this room, giving the children lots of opportunities to explore the challenges and experiences in the programme.
There is a whiteboard in the room that is used for recording information about your child’s day; what and how much they have eaten, if they slept and for how long and any other important messages about your child’s day, in addition to this staff will always speak to parents to pass on information.
The Koalas share their outdoor space with the four year old group, however the time is rostered so only one group is out there at a time to allow for more space and equipment.
This room has two separate toileting areas and access to nappy changing facilities (if needed).
The centre has a uniform planning process based on observations taken of the children and individual goals set. The program follows the centre philosophy, which is based on ‘learning through play’. We foster all areas of development in our programs whilst always ensuring individual needs are met. |
